Does a real video show UK police officers tackling scooter thieves? No, that's not true: A visual inspection by Lead Stories found several glitches characteristic of AI-generated content. There are no credible media reports about the incidents shown in the clips.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here) made on X by the user @mr_viewX on Aug. 22, 2026. The post included a video of different clips, with a caption that read:
'UK Police are NOT playing 🚨
They just full-send tackle scooter thieves in the middle of London 🔥'

Lead Stories searched Google News (archived here) and Yahoo News (archived here) using the search terms "UK police tackle scooter thieves" and did not find any matching reports from credible news outlets. A Google Images reverse image search (archived here) of a screenshot from the video also returned no credible results.
There are several glitches in the clips included in the video that indicate that the content is AI-generated. For example, the appearance of nonsensical road signage is a telling giveaway:

One of the clips transforms a man with two differently colored pant legs into a person with a third leg. Meanwhile, his accomplice inexplicably disappears:

Another clip features two men on a scooter. When they fall, one of the men is absorbed into an on-foot officer:

At least one clip includes a timestamp without any logical meaning -- along with an aerial, spin-kicking officer who somehow keeps up with a fast-paced scooter thief:
