Does a real story report that Chelsea Clinton is taking a plea deal from Scotland Yard and getting fined £1.2 million? No, that's not true: The claim originated on a Facebook page known for posting satirical content that carries the disclaimer, "Nothing on this page is real." The image in the original post also bears the same warning label. Lead Stories found no credible news coverage of any such report.
The claim appeared in a post and image (archived here) by the America - Love It Or Leave It account on Facebook on Aug. 16, 2026. It read:
Chelsea Clinton will take a plea deal in a case out of Scotland Yard that will see her fined 1.2 million pounds and spend 5 years on unsupervised probation.
The case is part of a years-long investigation into the Clinton Foundation's dealings in the UK.
Unlike in America, Chelsea can't hide her shady practices behind a "charity" without facing criminal accountability.
She's also banned from sitting on the board of any charity registered under the King, which means the Clinton Foundation can either replace her or leave Great Britain for good.
It's a win-win for the English people, that's for sure.
