Did President Donald Trump post an AI-generated image of a six-fingered sailor enjoying a heaping tray of food, with the caption "Our military eats the best!" on Truth Social? No, that's not true: Trump never made this post. An early copy of the fake screenshot was posted on the 4chan board Politically Incorrect on Aug. 30, 2026, and was reposted on other social media platforms.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here) by the account @RepJackKimble on X on Aug. 30, 2026. It read:
Yeah, things have been rough for deployed troops and that's unfortunate, but our AI troops are the most well-fed in the world. The best thing is no matter how much they eat, they don't get out of shape or lose any bonus digits.
This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The text in the fake post reads:
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrumpOUR MILITARY EATS THE BEST!
Nobody feeds our brave troops better than me. The food is AMAZING--the best military food EVER! Other countries wish they could feed their soldiers this well.
TOTAL WIN!
The Rep. Jack Kimble account is a known satire account pretending to be a Republican representing California's 54th District (there is no 54th district in the state). While Lead Stories has published several fact checks on spoofs originating from this account, this particular fake screenshot does not appear to have originated there.
Kimble's post was made on X at 5:33 p.m. when other social media posts were made hours earlier and include a detail Kimble's post lacks: a fake datestamp along the bottom margin (pictured below). The fake screenshot was posted on Facebook by @devin.mckinley.161, and was posted on Reddit's r/Destiny by @Cautious_Car9871, both at 2:06 p.m. (archived here and here). The earliest instance of the fake post Lead Stories found with a Google Lens image search (archived here), is an anonymous post made on the /pol/ board on 4chan on Aug. 30, 2026, at 12:25:10. The post was titled:
You could eat like this EVERY DAY if you enlisted

Trump did not make this post, timestamped, "8/29/26, 6:23 PM" on his @realDonaldTrump account on Truth Social. At the time of writing, a direct search of Trump's account shows an Aug. 29, 2026, post made at 5:36 p.m. (archived here) and the next post was made at 10:35 p.m. (archived here) -- there is no post at 6:23 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2026.
The website Know Your Meme has an entry on /pol/ (archived here). It reads in part:
The reputation of the board across the internet is typically linked to the endorsement of extremist politics, and the board is thus often cited as one of the defining aspects of 4chan's reputation, alongside /b/.[2] Frequent users of the board are typically referred to as /pol/acks. Due to 4chan's nature as an imageboard, /pol/ has spawned several image-based memes.
The image of the Navy Sailor with six fingers eating a bacon cheeseburger is AI-generated (pictured below). The Hive Moderation AI-generated content detection tool found the image was likely to be AI-generated with a score of 99.7% (archived here).
