Was a viral video of people dressed as furries recorded at protests against the Alternative for Germany political party on Sept. 12, 2026? No, that's not true: The clip predated those rallies. It was recorded at a Pride event, as the caption of the first video uploaded said.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on X by the @BowesChay account on Sept. 13, 2026. The caption read:
This anti-AfD protest in Germany is the best advertisement for the party that I have seen

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) political party won the Sept. 6, 2026, election (archived here) in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. In the aftermath, protests against AfD spread across more than 35 German cities (archived here) on Sept. 12, 2026.
The video of people dressed as furries, however, was first published before the protests. It was uploaded on Sept. 11, 2026 (archived here), on Instagram by the account @germany__insight. The caption identified it as footage from a Pride event (archived here):
