Fact Check: Trump's Truth Social Account Did NOT Post 503 'Service Unavailable' Error From Yandex -- It Appeared On A Political Humor Account Satire Account

Did President Donald Trump's Truth Social account post a 503 "Service Unavailable" error referencing Yandex? No, that's not true: A review of Trump's Truth Social account found no record of the post, and no established news outlets reported that his account shared the error message at the time of publication. The fake post appeared to have originated from a political humor account.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) by the @serhii_rieznik account on X on Oct. 11, 2026. It read:

Concerning

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The text in the post read:

503 Service Unavailable
Error code: YX-503-1042

Yandex upstream service did not respond within 30,000 ms.
All 3 retry attempts failed.

Request ID: 7a91c4e2-1086
Retry after: 120 seconds

A 503 "Service Unavailable" error means a website's server is temporarily unable to handle the request. In this case, the error seems to be in reference to displaying the post.

Lead Stories manually reviewed Trump's Truth Social account for any matching posts (archived here). Lead Stories also searched Trump's Truth (archived here), a website that archives Trump's Truth Social posts. At the time of writing, Lead Stories found no matches for "Yandex."

Yandex attack

Yandex, often described as Russia's version of Google, operates the country's most popular search engine and a wide range of online services. The company also plays a major role in Russia's artificial intelligence development.

Ukrainian drone strikes hit three Yandex data centers in Russia over four days in early October 2026, The Associated Press reported (archived here). The attacks disrupted the company's services, leaving users in dozens of Russian cities and in Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia unable to access some services, including ordering taxis and using banking services. Yandex Cloud said operations at one data center had been completely halted, but no one was injured.

The fabricated post satirically implies that the president's social media account is hosted in Russia and was knocked out by the strikes.

News searches

Lead Stories searched Google News (archived here) and Yahoo News (archived here) and found no matching reports about the claim from established news outlets using the search terms: "Trump," "Truth Social," "503," and "Yandex."
