Carley Fiorina's performance in the CNN GOP debate -- which included clashes with Donald Trump -- propelled the former tech exec to the second position behind the billionaire in the latest CNN/ORC poll of Republican presidential candidates.
The same poll shows Scott Walker, a favorite for 10% just two months ago, couldn't even get the half-point needed to register in the latest poll.
Fiorina, who had been in the bottom tier with just 3% support, now has 15% among Republicans surveyed in the days after the 3-hour CNN debate at the Ronald Reagan Library. Trump's share fell from 32% two weeks earlier down to 24%, still the best by far in the GOP field of 16.
Ben Carson, whose first debate performance helped him move to second place at 19%, slipped to third with 14% in the latest poll.
Marco Rubio got a boost from 3% up to 11% and fourth place in the post-debate poll.
The rest of the Republican field stayed mostly unmoved, with Jeb Bush still at 9%, although the leaps by Fiorina and Rubio pushed him down to fifth from third. Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee are tied for sixth at 6%.
