Journalists were frequently targeted by Republicans candidates during Wednesday's CNBC presidential debate, including sharp attacks by Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Ben Carson.
Marco Rubio suggested that mainstream media entities are a major ally for the Democratic candidates, evidenced by the coverage of Hillary Clinton.
"The Democrats have the ultimate super pac," Rubio said. "It's called the mainstream media."
Earlier, Cruz launched a minute-long tirade against the CNBC moderators for asking irrelevant questions designed to get the GOP candidates attacking each other, while he suggested the Democrats were tossed softball questions.
