Janet Jackson shared good news for fans who heard rumors she postponed her world tour because she had been diagnosed with throat cancer.
"Remember... believe it when you hear it from my lips," she said in a tweet posted Wednesday night, January 6, 2016. "The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I'm recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love."
The rumors started after Jackson, 49, abruptly announced in December she was postponing shows for several months because of surgery. She never revealed what kind of surgery.
"It was Janet's wish not to make any further comments about her health, however, because of the great concern from around the world, Janet will be releasing a personal message shortly," her "team" tweeted earlier Wednesday.
The tweet that followed said "From My Lips" and included a recording of her song "The Great Forever," followed by her written statement.
From my lips...
