The Moment 1,400 Americans Learned Their Jobs Are Moving To Mexico

  • by: Lead Stories Staff

American jobs being sent overseas by large corporations for financial gain is not a new thing. But this cell phone video caught the moment that Carrier Air Conditioner told it's workers that it was moving at least 1,400 Indiana jobs to Mexico.

The best way to stay competitive and protect the business longterm is to move production from our facility in Indianapolis to Monterrey, Mexico."

The Carrier exec tells the workers the plant will be fully shut down by mid-2017 and encourages them to "remain committed to manufacturing the same high quality products" until then.

"Yeah, f*** you!" one person shouts back.

"It was made most difficult because I understand it will have an impact on all of you, your families, and the community," he said.

Carrier executives won't be hit as hard as factory workers, since the company's headquarters and engineering offices will remain in place with about 300 employees.
