Awww! Cop Enters Burning House to Rescue Pit Bull Puppy

  • by: Lead Stories Staff

In a heartwarming show of bravery and compassion, a Pennsylvania police officer forced his way into a burning house to rescue a helpless puppy.

Officer Breitfeller of the Stroud Area Regional Police Department arrived on the scene of a home that was on fire and billowing with smoke. After talking to neighbors he was informed that nobody was inside -- except for a pit bull puppy.

The Stroud Area Police Department posted pictures on their Facebook page showing the frightened little puppy appropriately nicknamed "Smokey", in the arms of his hero.

The puppy is obviously a bit shooken up, but undoubtedly grateful to the officer who risked his life for another.

In a world where media commonly portrays cops as heartless enforcers, it is a breath of fresh air to be reminded of the humanity within us all. This is one of many instances where our men and women in blue go above and beyond protocol to make the world a better place.
