Viral internet sensation Daniel Lara (a California teenager known from a viral video in which he was walking around looking cool at school wearing white Vans while his friend repeated the phrase "Damn Daniel") was not beaten and robbed of his trademark Vans, despite what well known fake news site Huzlers may have led you to believe.

According to the made up article they recently posted, Daniel was beaten and robbed just outside his home in California, leaving him hospitalized in critical condition. Target of the robbers were the famous shoes Daniel wore in his video, which they supposedly wanted to sell on Ebay.

A fake listing was indeed made on Ebay for the sneakers, from one 'aleczanders'.

The actual Daniel Lara meanwhile kept on tweeting like nothing happened. Kind of strange for someone supposedly in critical conditon.

The people who shared the news online without checking should perhaps be more critical as a condition for being allowed to keep using the internet...
