Fact Check

There is a NOT TRUE story alleging "D'Angelo Russell To Be Banned From The NBA For Disregarding Player Privacy." Lead Stories' Trendolizer discovered the story earlier in the day so we are debunking it for you. Although D'Angelo is currently at the center of a rift with another NBA player after posting a video online, he is not being banned from the NBA.

The HOAX story starts:

After Los Angeles Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell posted a video on snapchat featuring teammate Nick Young, who appeared to be completely unaware he was being recorded, admitting to cheating on his Fiancé Iggy Azalea, the NBA announced that D'Angelo Russell will be permanently banned from the NBA for disregarding player privacy and breaking "locker room rules", and thus forcing the Los Angeles Lakers to waive Russell.

And concluding:

The infamous video was posted by D'Angelo Russell as his snapchat story. seen by hundreds of thousands of people, including Iggy Azalea herself. Russell is now being shunned by pretty much almost everybody, especially his teammates. "There are levels to the rules," said SportsNation co-host Marcellus Wiley, who played in the NFL for 10 seasons. "The violations start at pillow talk, and that happens in every single locker room. Guys are talking amongst guys, and someone goes home and tells their significant other, and that turns to gossip, and someone else hears about it from the outside and it comes back into the locker room. That's a misdemeanor, because it happens so often. But what D'Angelo did was felonious. This is the worst example I've ever seen. This is damning."

Though it is unclear what will happen with D'Angelo and the Lakers, he won't be banned from the NBA. The NBPA wouldn't allow that. The HOAX story is just trying to get a rise out of fans that are following the hijinx.
