Fake News: Gypsies DID NOT Install Their Caravans On The Champs-Élysées In Paris For Gilets Jaunes Protests

Did several gypsy clans show up in Paris and did they install their caravans on the Champs-Élysées to participate in the Gilets Jaunes protests after ex-boxer Christophe Dettinger was arrested last week for attacking the police? No, that's not true: a satirical website posted a story with a doctored photo of caravans near the iconic Arc de Triomphe but it is not real.

The story originated from an article published by Secret News on January 11, 2019 titled "Gilets Jaunes : les Gitans installent leurs caravanes sur les Champs-Élysées" (archived here) which opened:

Translation:

# Acte9 - Since the custody of former boxer Christophe Dettinger, arrested after act 8 yellow vests, travelers converge on Paris. The first caravans arrived this morning on the Champs-Élysées. In recent days, people from all over Europe converge on Paris following the call of cousins Lopez, reconciled for the occasion. The Gypsies have already begun to install their caravans on the Champs-Élysées, without any authorization.

Users on social media only saw this title, description and thumbnail:

But the image of the caravans already appeared in a 2014 article and it is clearly photoshopped on top of a photo showing the Arc de Triomphe:
