Did Joe Biden introduce his granddaughter, Natalie, as his late son, Beau Biden, during a campaign appearance? No, that's only partly true: It seemed as though he accidentally introduced her as his son and her dad, Beau Biden, but he was clearly stumbling over his words when introducing Natalie to supporters.
The claim appeared in an article published by ToddStarnes.com on' November 3, 2020, titled "SAD: Biden Introduces Granddaughter by Saying, This is My Son, Beau Biden'" (archived here) which opened:
Folks, this is really heartbreaking. Joe Biden confused his grandchildren on the campaign trail and misstated his son's political experience.
"This is my son, Beau Biden who alot of you helped elect to the senate in Delaware," the former vice president said. "This is my granddaughter, Natalie. No wait, no wait. We got the wrong one. This is Beau's daughter."

The article omits part of what Biden said directly before what is quoted. "I want to introduce you to -- two of my granddaughters," the former vice president said. Then Biden said what is quoted in the article, "This is my son, Beau Biden who alot of you helped elect to the senate in Delaware. This is my granddaughter, Natalie. No wait, no wait. We got the wrong one. This is Beau's daughter." The reason he said "No wait, no wait. We got the wrong one" is because he put his arm around Finnegan Biden, Hunter Biden's daughter, when he meant to put his arm around Natalie Biden, Beau Biden's daughter. He then corrected himself and put his arm around Natalie.

The Democratic presidential candidate did incorrectly refer to his son as a senator in Delaware. Beau was attorney general of the state.
