Are there no movie theater listings after January 6, 2022? No, that's not true: At the time of writing, movie theaters in larger markets like New York and Los Angeles had posted showtimes for after Thursday, January 6, 2022. Some theaters in the United States had not publicized movie listings after January 6, 2022, because theaters make the schedules on Tuesdays or Wednesdays each week for the following days. This claim was published on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. The theaters not showing post-January 6 movie showtimes is not a foreshadowing of something drastic that will change after former President Donald Trump holds a press conference on January 6, 2022, on the one-year anniversary of the violent insurrection at the Capitol.

The claim appeared as an article published by Hal Turner Radio Show on January 3, 2022 titled "OK, This is Weird: No Movie Theater Listings After January 6" (archived here) which opened:

Check the listings for what's screening after January 6 . . . if you see any movies at all, it may just be the CIA spy thriller

Users on social media only saw this title, description and thumbnail:

The article claims the reason behind the lack of movie showtimes after January 6, 2022 may have to do with the anniversary of the insurrection on the Capitol. It reads:

Others claim that former President Trump is slated to give some sort of address on January 6, and thereafter the future is quite uncertain, they claim.

Social media users posted the claim of a conspiracy theory about the movie showtimes:

This is not true. A search of an AMC Theatre in Los Angeles, California shows movies scheduled after January 6, 2022. "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is showing multiple times on Friday, January 7, 2022, as this screengrab from the movie theater website shows:

A search in Huntsville, Alabama, at the AMC Valley Bend 18 shows the CIA thriller movie "The 355" as showing on Friday, January 7, 2022 but no other showtimes are listed after January 6, 2022. A message on the website explains the absence of show times:

Sorry, no showtimes have been announced yet for this theatre. Showtimes for Friday and beyond are usually posted by Wednesday afternoon.

The Cinemark Willowbrook Mall and XD in Wayne, New Jersey, shows multiple movies showing on Friday, January 7, 2022, including "Spider-Man: No Way Home."

Ryan Noonan, public relations director for AMC Theatres, told The Associated Press that not scheduling movie showtimes early in the week is a normal course of action for the company:

"Our weekly movie showtime scheduling is standard operating procedure at AMC and has been in place for years," Noonan wrote in an email to the AP. "As is always the case, the complete showtime schedules at all AMC locations for the week of Jan. 7-13 will fully populate by Wednesday morning - offering AMC moviegoers a wide variety of entertainment choices."
