Fact Check: 'Karen' Confronting Drivers Is NOT Serious -- She's Acting Satirical Skit

Does a video show a serious interaction between a "Karen" who threatens to call the police on two men trying to tell her that a gas pump is attached to her car's gas tank? No, that's not true: The Facebook page of the video's featured creator is labeled as "Satire/Parody."

The claim was implied in a Facebook post (archived here) on March 14, 2022. The post included the video, which had superimposed text that read:

Karen flips at guys for following her, little does she know...

This is what the post looked like on Facebook on March 24, 2022:

Although the video received interaction on other platforms such as Reddit, Twitter and YouTube, the earliest published date of the video located by Lead Stories was January 23, 2021, when a longer version was posted to Facebook. Matching footage of the March 14, 2022, Facebook post can be found beginning at the longer version's 2:15 mark. The video was posted on the Facebook page of Libby Barnes, a digital creator whose Facebook bio states:

I produce and direct short form reality content for the Internet.

Barnes' page is labeled as "Satire/Parody," as shown in the screenshot below:

Barnes' page posted the full-length video again on June 18, 2021. A similar video of Barnes with a gas pump hanging out of her tank was posted on Barnes' page on October 28, 2021.
