Fact Check: WEF Founder Klaus Schwab Has NOT Been Hospitalized; Rep Says On April 15, 2024, Schwab's 'Health Is Excellent' In Good Health

Was World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab hospitalized as of mid-April 2024? No, that's not true: An organization representative told Lead Stories on April 15, 2024, that the organization has been "targeted by conspiracy narratives," adding, "Professor Schwab's health is excellent." Additionally, no evidence or reporting supports the claim.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) published on X (formerly Twitter) by Wall Street Silver on April 14, 2024, with the on-screen title "YOU MUST ALL DIE. WHO WANTS TO GO FIRST?" The post's caption says:

BREAKING 🚨

The social media post offered no evidence to support its claim.

World Economic Forum

In an April 15, 2024, email to Lead Stories, Yann Zopf, head of media at the World Economic Forum (WEF), provided this response to the social media post. He said:

These claims are entirely baseless and unfounded. Professor Schwab's health is excellent. Like many high-profile individuals and organizations, he and the World Economic Forum have been targeted by conspiracy narratives, as well as misinformation and disinformation campaigns.

The 86-year-old Schwab is the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum.

Google searches

A Google News search (archived here) using the terms "Klaus Schwab hospitalized" produced no stories matching the claim. A general Google search (archived here) found multiple social media posts making the same claim about the head of the WEF but provided no evidence to back up what they were alleging.
