Is a grayscale video that shows various celebrities wearing a t-shirt featuring a Star of David inside a drawing of a hand giving the finger to Kanye West set to the tune of Jewish folk song "Hava Nagila" a real ad? No, that's not true: The AI generated video appears to show Scarlett Johansson, Jerry Seinfeld, Steven Spielberg, Mark Zuckerberg, Sacha Baron Cohen, David Schwimmer, Jack Black, Lenny Kravitz, Woody Allen, Sam Altman, Ben Stiller & Adam Sandler (among others) before fading into the slogan "Enough is enough." It appeared on the Instagram account of a "Generative AI Expert" and was labeled by Instagram and AI detection tools as AI generated.
The video appeared in an Instagram post (archived here) published by an account named "oribejerano_ai" on February 11, 2025. The caption (translated from Hebrew by Google Translate) read:
Fuck you Kanye West 🖕 In recent days, Kanye West has once again crossed every possible red line. The man who has previously declared "I am a Nazi," praised Hitler, and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, used one of the world's biggest platforms - a commercial broadcast during the Super Bowl - to spread anti-Semitism and hatred. 💥 How did he do it? Immediately after his commercial aired, which supposedly led to his regular e-commerce website, he removed all the products from the website and left only one T-shirt - a white one with a swastika. 🚨 This is not a mistake, not a gimmick, and not an "artistic provocation." 🚨 This is deliberate incitement against Jews. 🚨 This is normalizing Nazi symbols in front of tens of millions of people. 🚨 This is a call for violence disguised as pop culture. ✅ Fortunately, Elon Musk has already blocked Kanye West's page on Twitter. ❌ Unfortunately, Shopify - through which West sells the shirts - has not yet stopped the sale or responded. ⚠️ It's time to stop being silent and respond to anti-Semites like Kanye West in the strongest possible way. ⚠️ We must demand that social networks stop giving a platform to anti-Semitism and hatred. ⚠️ We must apply economic and public pressure and kick people like West off every platform for spreading their poison. ⚠️ We must not continue to make Kanye West a sensation and a gimmick - he is dangerous, and it's time for him to be treated as such.
