Fact Check: Picture Of Goat Statue Covered In Fake Trump Banknotes At Mar-A-Lago Appears To Be Real -- Art Project Real

Is a picture of a goat statue covered in fake money with President Donald Trump's face on it being displayed at Mar-a-Lago real? Yes it appears so: Video of the statue appeared on the Instagram account of Project G.O.A.T., which calls itself an "art-based awareness and support campaign in the fight against human trafficking and sexual exploitation of children." Details in the background of the video from which the pictures were apparently taken match with a photo of the dining room on the website of President Trump's Mar-a-Lago club.

An example of the picture appeared in a post on X (archived here) published on February 10, 2025. The post described the image as:

At Mar-a-Lago, a bizarre, golden-hoofed goat idol is on display. The idol is wrapped in Trump $100 bills that say, "In Trump we Trust," replacing God with Trump. The idols' base says, "I love you" along with Trump's signature.

This is what the picture looked like:

The Instagram post was captioned:

Thank you @martha_boneta_fain and @tonydelgado for the 📷s and @sevagpr for the concept idea and securing the @realdonaldtrump signature on #TheGOAT! Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming auction where this will be auctioned to support multiple charities including @_projectgoat. #magagoat #MAGA #POTUS

The Instagram account in question is referenced on the website of Project G.O.A.T. (archived here) which describes itself as:

Project G.O.A.T, which stands for Global Offensive Against Trafficking is an art-based awareness and support campaign in the fight against human trafficking and sexual exploitation of children. Fifty-five life-size goat statues have been painted or otherwise embellished by amazing artists and, in many cases, represented by celebrity athletes, actors, musicians, and others.

The curtains, chairs and columns in the background of the video match the ones in this picture of the dining room at Mar-a-Lago, taken from their website (archive here):
