Fact Check: Man Was NOT Decapitated on Space Mountain in April 2025 -- 'Mouse Trap News' is a Parody Site Satire Origin

Did a man get decapitated on Space Mountain at Walt Disney World in April 2025? No, that's not true: A widely-shared video which recounted the story came from an account that describes itself as "the world's best satire and parody site." Mouse Trap News is a frequent source of fake, Disney-themed content.

The story appeared in an April 28, 2025, post on Instagram (archived here), with the headline:

Man Was Decapitated on Space Mountain Yesterday!

This is what it looked like at the time of writing:

Mouse Trap News posted the same video on their TikTok account, and a text version of the story on their website.

The story was fake, just like everything published by Mouse Trap News, which describes itself in the following terms:

Mouse Trap News is the world's best satire and parody site, and authors of The Ultimate Guide to an Affordable Disney Trip, a best-seller. We write fake stories about Disney Parks stuff. From Disney Park announcements to Disney Hotel and resort news to made-up Disney partnerships, you can be assured that anything you read here is not true, real, or accurate, but it is fun.

If a visitor had been killed on Space Mountain, or anywhere else at Walt Disney World, in April 2025, it would undoubtedly have formed the basis of widespread news coverage. However, Google News searches for the term "Space Mountain" and "Disney World" yielded no relevant results, further underlining the entirely fictional nature of this story.
