Fact Check: Disney World Did NOT Announce Replacing American Flags With BLM, Pride, Palestine Flags In Parks -- Rumor First Appeared On Self-Described Satire Site 'Mouse Trap News' Satire Origin

Did Disney World announce it will remove all American flags from its parks and replace them with other flags? No, that's not true: The rumor originated from a self-described parody website, Mouse Trap News. It specializes in publishing made-up stories about Disney.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on Facebook where it was published on May 27, 2025. It opened:

Disney World is removing all American flags from their parks. This is to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment.

Disney remvoing American Flags and replacing with controversial flags

According to an official statement, 'We know how controversial the American Flag can be. We understand that it creates division in the country when we should be trying to unite people. Instead, we will rotate different flags in for the American flag. Those flags include the pride flag, the black lives matter flag, the United Nations flag, the Palestine flag, and more.'

This is what the post looked like at the time of writing:

A textual Google search for the fragments of the purported statement cited in the entry on Facebook showed that the rumor originated from the website Mouse Trap News where it was published on May 26, 2025 (archived here).

The website's About page (archived here) spelled out that it doesn't publish real news:

Mouse Trap News is the world's best satire and parody site, and authors of The Ultimate Guide to an Affordable Disney Trip, a best-seller. We write fake stories about Disney Parks stuff. From Disney Park announcements to Disney Hotel and resort news to made-up Disney partnerships, you can be assured that anything you read here is not true, real, or accurate, but it is fun.

The same claim appeared on social media accounts associated with Mouse Trap News, as seen here (archived here) and here (archived here).
