Fact Check: SATIRE Page Created Fake Karoline Leavitt Post About Three Democratic Senators Skimming Hundreds Of Millions From Ukraine Military Aid Satire Origin

Did White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt make a request on X for opinions about whether the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) should investigate "a mysterious shell company" tied to "three Democratic senators" that received $622 million, or $500 million, in Ukraine war contracts? No, that's not true: The poll was posted by a self-described satire account. Lead Stories reviewed Leavitt's real X page and found no such post on May 2, 2025, the date the fake post appeared.

The fake poll appeared in a May 2, 2025 X post (archived here) on the @WHLeavitt account under the page named "Karoline Leavitt Daily News Sharing".

It opened:

A mysterious shell company, allegedly tied to three Democratic senators, reportedly received $622 million in Ukraine war contracts. Should the DOGE investigate them immediately?

A. Hell yes

B. No

At the time this fact check was written, the post on X.com looked like this:

The post originated on Karoline Leavitt Daily News Sharing, a self-described "Satire" account on X that describes itself as follows:

A parody account reporting White House news daily. No affiliation with @PressSec or @karolineleavitt.

Lead Stories manually searched Leavitt's authentic account - @PressSec - and found no such reader poll posted, nor any reference to allegations of war profiteering by Democratic senators.
