Did Elon Musk send a cryptic tweet with the hashtag "#PIGFOOT" on June 6, 2025 following his public falling-out with President Trump? No, that's not true: A screenshot of such a tweet, including the message "Tomorrow 3PM PST #PIGFOOT", appears to have been fabricated and does not appear on Musk's X account. It was also not indexed by search engines.
An example of the image could be seen in a post on X (archived here) with over two million views that was published on June 5, 2025 with a comment that read:
Elon Musk shares cryptic post.
This is the image in question:

Lead Stories searched for the hashtag #pigfoot on Musk's X account and there were no matching posts (archived here).
Searches on Google and Bing for that hashtag, limited to links containing "x.com/elonmusk" (using the "site:" search operator) returned no results either (archived here and here), indicating Google and Bing din't recently index such a post.
All screenshots of the supposed post showed exactly the same view count (4.8M), size and background color. If the post had been real the expectation would be that there were more screenshots circulating showing different view counts and/or layouts (night vs. day mode, mobile vs. web interface...).
