Fact Check: Photo Does NOT Show Hillary Clinton Posing With Jeffrey Epstein And Ghislaine Maxwell -- It's Jimmy Buffett's Wife Another Blonde

Does a photo show Hillary Clinton posing with her husband, Bill Clinton, along with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell? No, that's not true: The woman in the picture is Jane Slagsvol, wife of the late musician Jimmy Buffett, not Hillary Clinton. The photo has been cropped; the original version shows Buffett standing next to Slagsvol.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on X on February 26, 2026. It read:

Hey Hillary,

[Photo of a woman with blonde hair, Bill Clinton, Maxwell, and Epstein that's signed by the former president]

BREAKING: Hillary Clinton under oath says she does not believe she ever met Jeffrey Epstein.

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

Clinton testimony

Hillary Clinton told the House Oversight Committee on Feb. 26, 2026, during closed-door testimony that she "never met Jeffrey Epstein." In a post (archived here) on X on Feb. 26, 2026, she included her opening statement to the committee. Referring to Epstein and Maxwell, it said:

I had no idea about their criminal activities. I do not recall ever encountering Mr. Epstein. I never flew on his plane or visited his island home or offices.

Original photo

The social media post attempts to show Hillary Clinton lied by suggesting the woman in the picture is Clinton. The uncropped version of the photo tells a different story. The image was released (archived here) in December 2025 by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee and shows Buffett standing next to his wife, Slagsvol. The photo is believed to be from a Clinton fundraiser at Epstein's Palm Beach, Florida, home in 1995:
