Fact Check: Pam Bondi Did NOT Say That Epstein File Is 'Too Graphic To Release' -- Spoof Headline From Satire Page Joke Image

Did U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi say that the Epstein file is "too graphic to release"? Did Fox News air a report about that supposed comment? No, none of that is true: The image with the purported quote originated from a self-described satire page. The picture contained multiple comically misspelled words, including the channel's name.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) published on X on July 21, 2025. It shared an image of Bondi with the bottom banner that read:

'The file is too graphic to release because Epstein committed suicide by firing two shots in his head'.

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

With the word "Fox" in the bottom left corner, the image could have been mistaken for a screenshot of a Fox News program if a person saw it on a small screen or without glasses. However, the picture contained multiple hints that it was not the case. The channel's logo read "Fox Mews", the banner's content was labeled as "braking mews", the word "live", normally referring to live broadcast, was changed to "liver" twice, and the first lady's name below the purported quote was also misspelled.

The image displayed the "@Mrs. Putin" watermark. It led to a self-described satire account on Facebook (archived here) where the picture originated from (archived here). Its bio read:

A fictional character based on a selfish crook who inadvertently found wealth and power.

Searches across news articles on Google (archived here) and Yahoo (archived here) did not show credible media reports about the purported quote being said by Bondi in public.

Lead Stories previously wrote about another similar image falsely attributing a quote to Bondi.
