Fact Check: Video Of Dog Bringing A Garden Hose In The House Is NOT Real -- It's Made With AI AI Generated

Does authentic video show a dog who brought a spraying garden hose into the house, soaking everything? No, that's not true: This video is AI-generated. Differences between the two camera angles in the video - in the home furnishings, the patio, and even the dog - give it away. Several similar AI-generated videos showing a dog with a hose have been posted on social media, some of them carrying a disclaimer that they were made with AI.

The video appeared in a post (archived here) published on X by @naturelife_ok on Aug. 28, 2025. The post was captioned:

When you think it's an ordinary day... and on the other hand no 😂

This is how the video appeared in the post at the time of writing:

The first clue that something is not real is that the sixteen-second video has two clips from slightly different angles -- as if two security cameras are mounted next to each other in the same room. Details in the furnishings, the lighting, and even the dog, change from the first scene to the next. The dog in the first scene wears a visible collar and has a medium length coat that is relatively dry. In the second clip the dog's collar is not visible, the coat is longer and very wet, and his tail has a long fringe -- it seems the dog started as a yellow Labrador retriever and turned into a golden retriever. The couch in the first scene is a love seat (pictured above), and in the second scene (pictured below) is an L-shaped sectional. The coffee table in the first camera angle disappears in the second. The entertainment center had white panels in the second scene, and the nonsensical patio door configuration, with both sliding and swinging glass doors, has changed.

A reverse image search with Google Lens returned several duplicate instances of this video posted on YouTube on Aug. 26 and Aug. 27, 2025 (here and here). These videos had no disclaimer. Searching YouTube for the phrase "Dog brings hose in house" (archived here) returned many videos both real and AI-generated.

One video posted by @TheAnimalVaultTV on Aug. 28, 2025 (pictured below) is titled "The Dog Who Tried to Be a Gardener" (archived here). The video short contains YouTube's altered or synthetic content disclaimer that says "sound or visuals were significantly edited or digitally generated and it appears to have been made with the same AI prompt as the @naturelife_ok video. It features a golden dog, children's toys on the floor, a large screen TV, a tan rug, a small back yard with a hedge, a green couch and a wooden coffee table. The channel's home page also has a disclaimer which shares a link to an AI video generating tool:
