Fact Check: Charlie Kirk Did NOT Record A Video Before His Death, "Knowing This Day Might Come." Fake Audio

Did Charlie Kirk make this final video sometime before he died, "Knowing this day might come"? No, that's not true: A video posted on TikTok contains a mashup of real scenes, but the audio is fake. A specialized detection tool analyzed the audio track from this video and determined that the voice of Charlie Kirk was made with an AI voice cloning program.

The video (archived here) with a fake audio track was published on TikTok by @mypersonstory on Sept.14, 2025. It is captioned:

Charlie Kirk's Final Words: I Knew This Day Would Come #charliekirk #usa #celebrity #fyp #foryou #rip

The video begins:

Hello everyone, I'm Charlie Kirk. If you are seeing this, I recorded it knowing this day might come.

I knew the risks of standing up for what I believe in and I knew the opposition would stop at nothing. Still, I am not afraid. I will not bow down to fear. I believe with all my heart that what I've done is for the good of this country, for the future of America.

I've always said free speech, strong families, limited government, these aren't just slogans, they're what make America great. Even if I'm not here tomorrow, there will be others to stand up. More voices will rise. More patriots will answer the call, because an idea rooted in truth cannot be killed and because America is worth every sacrifice.

Lead Stories used the tool Hiya from the InVid verification plugin to analyze the audio track from this video. The Hiya system determined it to be voice cloning, with portions of the audio returning an almost 100% detection rate. Overall, the detection rate of AI-generated voice cloning in the audio track averaged 87%.

In the second half of the TikTok video the cloned voice says:

I want to say I'm sorry to my wife Erika, my daughter, my son. I know I failed you more than once. I haven't always been the husband or father I promised I would be. But I did what I did because I believed it was necessary. I believed you would understand, I believed you will understand. So now I leave this with you -- Will you stand up when they try to silence us? Will you carry on if I am gone? Will you stay unafraid and keep pushing for what is right?

The opening scene footage (pictured top) is from a real video by Charlie Kirk, posted on TikTok (archived here) Sept. 9, 2025, the day before he was killed. He was speaking about the murder of Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte, North Carolina. None of the topics included in the fake audio transcript are part of the authentic Sept. 9 video by Kirk.
