Fact Check: Streamer Destiny Was NOT Banned On Twitch In September 2025 -- Ban Was Imposed in 2022 2022

Was Steven Kenneth Bonnell II, also known as streamer Destiny, permanently removed from Twitch in the aftermath of his September 2025 comments on Charlie Kirk's assassination? No, that's not true: The real, indefinite ban still affecting streamer Destiny was already in effect before the killing of the conservative activist. It has been in effect since March 24, 2022.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on X, where it was published on September 16, 2025. It opened:

Unreal, @elonmusk and other conservatives just got me banned from twitch. My entire income is gone now. So much for the party of free speech.

The post contained what was presented as a recent screenshot with the Twitch logo. In part, it read:

Based on a review of your activity or content, we have issued a Community Guidelines strike on your account. Due to the severe nature of this violation, or the fact that you've incurred multiple violations, your access to Twitch services is indefinitely restricted.
REASON
Hateful Conduct
Promoting, encouraging, or facilitating the discrimination or denigration of a group of people based on their protected characteristics.
This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The post came from the account of streamer Destiny on X after his remarks on Charlie Kirk's assassination (archived here) were criticized (archived here) by X's owner, Elon Musk. However, the shared image with the Twitch logo was not new. It had been online since March 2022, when it was uploaded on Reddit (archived here). That was when Destiny's account on Twitch was indefinitely banned (archived here).

Lead Stories found no evidence that the restriction was overturned at any point between March 24, 2022, and this writing. A saved screenshot of Destiny's account on Twitch from February 2024, however, confirms that at the time, it was still banned. In a fragment of Destiny's live stream on a different platform (archived here) that was shared on social media on September 16, 2025, the streamer confirmed that he was banned "around three years ago". As of September 17, 2025, the banner on that page read that the channel was still "unavailable due to a violation of Twitch's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service."
