Fact Check: Actress Millie Bobby Brown Did NOT Donate $1 Million To LGBTQIA+ Community, Saying 'I Hope They Find A Cure' -- Satire Site Satire Origin

Did actress Millie Bobby Brown donate $1 million to the LGBTQIA+ community hoping they would "find a cure?" No, that's not true: The account that posted the message is self-described as a parody account. The account disclaimer reads: "all content is satirical and not factual."

The claim appeared in an October 26, 2025 post on X.com account @DropPopNet (archived here). It opened:

Actress Millie Bobby Brown donated $1,000,000 to the LGBTQIA+ community.

"I hope they find a cure," the actress stated.

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The X.com account @DropPopNet (archived here) that posted the message about the Stranger Things star is clearly labeled a parody as this screenshot shows:

Brown has been a target of fake homophobic accusations going as far back as 2018, as Vox reported here. Had the young actress made such remarks, it would have been major news. A Google search found no actual news reports of Brown making the statement or the donation and included other fact checks about the claim. Similarly, the Yahoo! News index of partner news sites and news services turned up no legitimate news reports that Brown had made either the donation or the comment.
