Fact Check: Jason Kelce Did NOT Say 'If Bad Bunny Is A Bad Fit For The Super Bowl, Then Maybe The People Making These Comments Are A Bad Fit For America's Future' -- It's A Fake Quote Fake Quote

Did Jason Kelce say, "If Bad Bunny is a bad fit for the Super Bowl, then maybe the people making these comments are a bad fit for America's Future." No, that's not true: There is no credible news reporting to support the claim that Kelce made this statement. In response to this viral rumor, Kelce made a post from his verified X account stating, "unless you hear something directly from me via one of my platforms, it is not real."

The false quote appeared in a post (archived here) published by the Facebook page NFL Talk on Oct. 13, 2025. The post was captioned:

Jason Kelce came out swinging! 💥

This is what the post looked like on Facebook at the time of writing:

Jason Kelce responded to this false rumor with a post on X (archived here) on Oct. 14, 2025 (embedded below). He wrote:

I normally don't comment on things like this, but I feel I need to address that there are a number of accounts posting fake quotes and attributing them to me on this platform right now. I appreciate @X putting community notes on several and I will not address the other accounts specifically, because I do not want to amplify their engagement. But please know, unless you hear something directly from me via one of my platforms, it is not real.

Lead Stories attempted to find the source of the false quote. The NFL Talk image (pictured above) contains what appears to be a screenshot of a post made from @19problemz, the verified X account of the Washington Commanders' wide receiver and kick returner "Deebo" Samuel Sr. It reads:

"If Bad Bunny is a bad fit for the Super Bowl, then maybe the people making these comments are a bad fit for America's future." ~Jason Kelce
I like those Kelce brothers. They've got great energy!

A search on X (archived here) for posts from @19problemz including the phrase, "If Bad Bunny is a bad fit for the Super Bowl" produced no results. A search on X for the quote alone shows it first appeared in an Oct. 12, 2025 post (archived here) from Brown Eyed Susan @smc429 (pictured below). It contains the identical text, but no reference to Deebo.

Many posts on social media circulated a composite image with just the false quote in text (pictured below).

At the time of writing, new posts had appeared on Facebook (pictured below) with the false quote attributed to other people including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Andre Johnson, Nick Saban, and Travis Kelce.
