Fact Check: Video Does NOT Show Arrival Of Samud Flotilla In Gaza -- Crowd Gathered On Tunisia Beach To Support Them Passing By Tunisia Scene

Does a video show a crowd on a beach in Gaza who came to greet the arriving Samud Flotilla? No, that's not true: The crowd in the video gathered on Sidi Bou Said beach near Tunis, which is 1,400 miles across the Mediterranean Sea from Gaza. The video was filmed Sept. 10, 2025, weeks before the flotilla approached Gaza.

The miscaptioned video resurfaced in a post on X (archived here) published by @Brandons__1 on Oct. 2, 2025. The caption reads:

The Mikeno landed on the beaches of Gaza The sole boat from the #Flotilla broke the siege and made it to Gaza It evaded capture by switching it's location on & off #GlobalSumudFlotilla

This is how the video appeared in the post:

This miscaptioned video (archived here) had already surfaced on TikTok on Sept. 27, 2025 (pictured below). The post caption, originally in Arabic, (translated by TikTok) reads:

sumud flotilla arrived today at gaza # Praise be to Allah for the arrival of the delegation that came from all over the world #🍉🍉🍉🍉#نحاء

This video does not show the flotilla arriving in Gaza. The crowded beach scene near two distinctive towers is captured in another video (pictured below) published by reuters.com (archived here) on Sept. 11, 2025. The video is captioned:

Thousands of Tunisians flocked to Sidi Bou Said beach near Tunis on Wednesday (September 10) to back the Global Sumud Flotilla, a convoy of boats carrying international activists set to sail toward Gaza. The flotilla will attempt to sail towards the Strip in a major gesture of solidarity with Palestinians and an effort to challenge Israel's blockade of the enclave.

Another angle of the beach gathering in Tunisia appears in a video (embedded below) posted on Instagram on Sept. 11, 2025.
