Fact Check: President Trump Did NOT Ask Transportation And Commerce Departments To Introduce 15-Year Car Loans -- It's A Joke No Such Plan

Did President Trump ask the Transportation and Commerce departments to introduce 15-year car loans as a way to make vehicle ownership for all a reality? No, that's not true: A meme making the claim is apparently satire inspired by Trump's real proposal to extend home mortgages to 50 years. There is no official statement from the White House and no social media posts or public statements by the president concerning extending car loans to 15 years.

The claim appeared in a post on several social media platforms, including this post (archived here) where it was published by the @gnuman1979 account on X on November 10, 2025. The meme read:

THE WHITE HOUSE
PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP
As he continues to work hard to make the American Dream accessible to everyone, President Trump today has asked the Departments of Transportation and Commerce to make vehicle ownership for all a reality by introducing 15 year car loans! Secretaries Duffy and Lutnick are already working on it!
Delivering for America!

This is what the image in the post looked like at the time of writing:

A search (archived here) of the official White House website and a review of Trump's Truth Social timeline (archived here) did not find any such announcement.

A Google search (archived here) for the terms "Trump introducing 15 year car loans" only found examples of the meme on social media and other content related to the 50-year home mortgage plan.

Comments under the posts indicate most readers get the joke, understanding it is satire.
