Is a video that shows "Specimen 9X" at a place called the "Blackridge Containment Facility" in Nevada legitimate? No, that's not true: An online detection tool rated the video likely to be AI-generated. The "Blackridge Containment Facility" is not a real place.

The claim appeared in a February 23, 2026, post on X (archived here). It opened:

The entire caption read:

This is specimen 9X at the Blackridge Containment Facility in Nevada It does not blink it does not breathe loud it just waits
Wet fur clings to its frame like it was pulled from a deep tank
The glass between you and it feels thinner than it should
No signs no labels just concrete walls and overhead lights
It knows you are watching
You feel it before you see it
This was not meant to be seen
And yet here it stands Quiet Still Watching

The video with the unidentified creature is clearly AI-generated. Lead Stories uploaded the video of the creature to the Hive Moderation AI-generated content detection tool for analysis. Hive scored it 99.8% likely to be AI-generated content, as this screenshot shows:

The "Blackridge Containment Facility in Nevada" does not exist and is a common location in fictional sci-fi theories. If there were such a location, there would be a record of the facility. Lead Stories searched Google (archived here) and Yahoo! News (archived here) and did not find any matching sites.
