Fact Check: Kid Rock Thanked Service Members, Filmed Videos During Visit To Pentagon Thx To Troops

Did Kid Rock speak at the Pentagon about the Strait of Hormuz? No, that's not true: A Pentagon spokesman said the musician visited on April 27, 2026, as part of a Freedom 250th community event, where he met with service members and filmed videos tied to Memorial Day, America's 250th birthday, and his Freedom 250 tour. According to the Pentagon, the visit was intended to thank troops and highlight their service, not to deliver remarks on foreign policy.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) by the @SpencerHakimian account on X on April 27, 2026. It read:

The image of Kid Rock at the Pentagon originated in a post (archived here) on X on April 27, 2026, by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth (@SecWar). The post read:

Joined my friend @KidRock -- and some of our great @USArmy Apache pilots -- for a ride this morning. (More to come on that!) Kid Rock is a patriot and huge supporter of our troops. The War Department is wasting no time celebrating America's 250th -- home of the free because of the brave.

Pentagon response

The Pentagon responded in an April 29, 2026, email to a Lead Stories request for details about Kid Rock's visit. A statement from Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell said:

Earlier this week, Army helicopters operated in the National Capital Region in support of a Freedom 250th community relations event. As a part of that event, Robert 'Kid Rock' Ritchie participated in multiple troop touches with service members and filmed videos for Memorial Day, America's 250th birthday, and for his Freedom 250 tour. At each stop along his tour, Kid Rock has generously pledged 1,000 free tickets for members of the military and veterans. The visit today provided an opportunity for Kid Rock to thank service members, highlight the professionalism of the men and women supporting the mission, and recognize their continued sacrifice in honor of our nation. The Department is grateful for Kid Rock's long-time support of our troops.

There is no mention of Kid Rock addressing troops at the Pentagon about the Strait of Hormuz.
