Fact Check: Benjamin Netanyahu Did NOT Attend Argentina-Austria Match on June 22, 2026 -- Image Is Fake Bogus Bibi

Was Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in attendance for the Argentina-Austria World Cup match in Arlington, Texas, on June 22, 2026? No, that's not true: Two AI detection tools indicated that the image was AI-generated. One found it was 100 percent likely to have been created by AI, while the other concluded it was generated using OpenAI tools. There are no credible reports that Netanyahu attended the match.

The claim appeared in a post and image (archived here) by the @SamiRmcf15 account on X on June 22, 2026. It read:

🚨 Benjamin Netanyahu in attendance for the Argentina Austria game

AI detection

The OpenAI Research Verify Tool (archived here) found that the image was "generated with OpenAI tools":

Lead Stories searched Google News (archived here) and Yahoo News (archived here) and did not find any matching reports from credible news outlets containing the words "Netanyahu," "Austria" and "Argentina" in connection with the World Cup match.
