Does a photo show a police officer who reportedly shot a rabbi during a shooting in Montreal in late June 2026? No, that's not true: There is no evidence that the woman in the image is a member of the Montreal police; she is Dasha Nekrasova, an American actress, filmmaker, and podcast co-host. Additionally, the shooting victim was not a rabbi but a member of a local Jewish congregation.
The claim appeared in a post and image (archived here) by the @sh0tferret account on X on June 23, 2026. Quoting a post from another user related to the June 22, 2026, attack in Montreal, it read:
she shot a rabbi next to pornhub headquarters

Asked whether the person in the image was a member of the Montreal police, the department said it does not confirm or deny whether photos circulating online show one of its officers. In a June 26, 2026, email, police spokeswoman Anik de Repentigny said:
In order to ensure the safety and protect the privacy of its personnel, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal does not comment on the authenticity of images circulating on social media, or elsewhere, that purport to show one of its officers, except for those that it has chosen to make public, at its sole discretion.
Dasha Nekrasova
On her official X account (@dash_eats, archived here), Nekrasova reposted the photo and the claim that "she shot a rabbi next to pornhub headquarters." The repost includes a community note explaining that the photo is of Nekrasova. This is what the repost looks like:

Shooting deaths
A police officer, a bystander, and the shooter died in a June 22, 2026, shooting in Montreal (archived here). None of the three was a rabbi. However, Michel Mizrahi, the bystander who was shot, was Jewish and a member of Congregation Beth Chabad Côte St. Luc.
In a June 24, 2026, phone call, Lead Stories asked a representative of Beth Chabad whether Mizrahi, a Montreal suit salesman, was also a rabbi, as claimed in the social media post. The representative said, "That's not true."
