Space drones being developed by NASA are called "Extreme Access Flyers" because they have to be nimble enough to go where no spacecraft have gone before. Their mission will be to collect samples on the extreme terrain of astroids without guidance from earthlings.
Engineers at NASA Kennedy Space Center's "Swamp Works" lab are testing prototypes that use cold-gas jets to maneuver around the rocks with no atmosphere and harsh conditions.
