Ben Carson, who points out that he's the only GOP presidential candidate to have successfully separated conjoined twins, appears to have earned a groundswell of social media attention from his performance in the Fox News primetime debate.
Carson jumped from the lower levels of the Lead Stories' Trendolizer ranking of social media interest in the hours after the August 6, 2015, event ended. While Donald Trump was still in his usual perch at the top, the neurosurgeon was the second Republican based on the rate of likes on social media as measured by Trendolizer.

Carson may not have had as much time to talk compared to Trump, it was his closing statement that won praise in many of the top stories trending online:
"I haven't said anything about me being the only one to do anything, so let me try that. I am the only one to separate Siamese twins. The only one to operate on babies while they're still in their mother's womb. The only one to take out half of a brain, but you would think if you go to Washington, that someone had beat me to it...
"But I am very hopeful that I am not the only one who is willing to pick up the baton of freedom. Because freedom is not free and we must fight for it every day. Everyone of us must fight for it because we are fighting for our children and the next generation."
