When last we saw Glenn four weeks earlier, he was surrounded by walkers who were gorging on guts. This caused severe distress among Walking Dead fans since Steven Yeun's character is a series favorite.
It triggered agonizing speculation about Glenn's fate, only eased slightly by a producer's assurance we would see him again in some form. We learned in the opening scene of the November 22, 2015, episode that he is alive.

He was abled to crawl under a trash dumpster and wait until the horde of walking dead moved away. IN fact, that was one of the top theories among speculating fans.
The conclusion of the episode showed that he made it back to Alexandria just as another zombie catastrophe ensued. He signalled that he was safe by sending up green balloons. It was revealed on the "Talking Dead" show that the green balloons were a pre-set signal to be used to send an "all safe" message.
Now the question is will Alexandria survived? We'll find out what's next in the mid-season finale on November 29.
