The decades-long debate over how Barbie dolls' shape might cause young girls to develop body image issues has convinced Mattel to give her a makeover. Now there are four types of Barbies: Curvy, petite, tall and the original. Each body type comes in a variety of skin colors and hair types intended to cover a broad range of ethnicities.
"It's important for Barbies to look different, you know like the real people in the world," a young girl says in a Mattel video introducing the new dolls.
