Video: Trump Cites 'Two Corinthians' In Effort To Sway Christians

  • by: Perry Sanders III

In a recent effort to sway the Evangelicals of America, Donald Trump has been flouting his reverence for Christianity and the need to protect it from radical Islamists. He energetically announces that Christianity is under siege using beheadings in Syria to support to his claim.

In a passionate speech Trump gave to Liberty University, he repeatedly expressed the need to protect Christianity which is "under seige" by terrorists. During his speech at the Christian university, Trump managed to curse a mere four times while also quoting two-Corinthians, rather than first Corinthians.

"Two Corinthians, right?" he said. "Two Corinthians 3:17. That's the whole ballgame."

The real quote is from Second Corinthians 3:17: "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."

Trump used this quote which was conveniently located on the outside of Libery University in an attempt to strengthen his point that Christianity equates to freedom.

The last time Trump announced his love for the bible and was asked to share his favorite quote, he refused to.

He also said that if he's elected president "you're going to see Merry Christmas in department stores. ...I have friends who aren't Christian -- they like to say Merry Christmas."

While Trump is still fighting hard to strike the Christian chord within Americans, it appears he still has some serious convincing to do.

Watch below for the full speech given at Liberty University on January, 18th, 2016.
