Seattle police have made public for the first time photos of the shotgun they say Kurt Cobain used to kill himself 22 years ago.
Police and he family of Cobain, who died of a shotgun blast to his head on April 8, 1994, is in court trying to block an effort to release more grisly crime scene photos that show Cobain's corpse.
Cobain's daughter testified that the family fears the additional release may "encourage disturbed stalkers and fanatical threats."
Investigators concluded the Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain killed himself at age 27 in his Seattle home. The case, however, has remained a fascination among fans and the police have officially kept the cold case file open.
