Donald Trump targeted the federal judge presiding over the lawsuit against Trump University during a campaign rally in San Diego, home hometown of U.S. District Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel.
Trump told supporters that Judge Curiel is "a hater of Donald Trump" who should have recused himself from the case because he was appointed by President Obama. Judge Curiel "should be ashamed of himself" for letting the case go forward, Trump said.
Trump, whose company is being sued by former students who contend they were scammed into signing up, said he is being "railroaded" in the case. It is set for trial in November. "Wouldn't that be wild if I am president and I come back to do a civil case?" he asked.
Trump took at least 10 minutes out of his San Diego rally Friday to discuss the Trump University lawsuit.
He also slammed New York State Attorney Eric Schneiderman for filing a lawsuit against the company.
