One of the U.S. AIr Force Thunderbird team's jets crashed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Thursday afternoon during a flyover following the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony attending by President Obama.

"The pilot ejected safely and was recovered by first responders," the Thunderbird unite tweeted. The reason for the crash is not yet known.
The pilot of the #6 jet ejected safely and is walking around unhurt. More details will be released as they become available. 2/2

The jet is on the ground in a remote field near Peterson Air Force Base.
The Thunderbirds, known as "America's Ambassadors in Blue," fly six F-16 jets in formation over events, with a seventh "operations officer;" and an eighth "advance pilot and narrator" in other jets, according to the unit's website.
