Fake McDonalds Coupon: There Is No Free Big Mac Combo Or A February 30th

Fact Check

  • by: Alan Duke

If you see this coupon posted on your Facebook timeline, it's either because you have evil friends who want to embarrass you OR they don't realize there is NO February 30th. It is a hoax that has been trending on social networks through February. Don't try to use the coupon.

McDonalds Coupon Hoax.jpgThe coupon says that McDonalds is giving away Big Mac Combos to celebrate "National Big Mac Day" on February 30, 2016. While we suspect there is no such special day for the two-all-beef-patties-special-onions-on-a-sesame-seed-bun burger, we know for certain there has never been a 30th day of February and never will. This is a leap year, which means we get an extra day to observe Black History Month, but it still become March after February 29.

So, if you see this posted or tweeted, respond with this story so you friends won't get stuck at the Mickey D's counter Tuesday with a meal they can't pay for.
