Did JD Vance make a post saying "It's pretty disgusting to equate 'American' with 'white'" about his biracial family and non-white son? Yes, the text is a screenshot of a real tweet JD Vance posted in 2019. The original tweet was only text and did not have a family photo included with it. It was eventually deleted and that account no longer exists.
The screenshot surfaced in a post (archived here) published on X by @NickJFuentes. The post was captioned:
Don't ever suggest that being American has anything to do with being White around JD Vance.
He and his biracial family won't stand for it.
This is how the altered screenshot appeared in the @NickJFuentes post:

The text under the picture in the screenshot reads:
J.D. Vance
@JDVance1
It's pretty disgusting to equate "American" with "white" given my writing and speaking on this topic, not to mention my biracial family and non-white son.
Lead Stories found the original tweet from July 21, 2019, in the Wayback Machine archive (pictured below). The tweet was only archived once, on Aug. 9, 2019. The archive page shows that there was no family photo included with this tweet. The formatting and punctuation of the archived text do match the text included in the screenshot posted by @NickJFuentes.

Vance was responding with a quote tweet of a post by @ZaidJilani, who had quote tweeted yet another account. Jilani wrote:
Sometimes the people who insert race into every conversation simply think way more about race than their intended targets do. @JDVance1 isn't talking about skin color, he's talking about replacement level fertility, a pretty simply growth concept
The @JDVance1 account no longer exists, and Vance no longer separates his initials JD with periods as he did back in 2019. The new account of Vice President JD Vance is found at @JDVance archived here (pictured below right).

The screenshot posted by Fuentes was altered with the addition of a real family portrait. The reverse image search engine TinEye (archived here) shows the photo appeared in a political ad for Vance as early as Nov. 2, 2022. At the time the original tweet was posted in 2019, Vance had only one son. His second son was born in 2020.
