Fake News: 5 Muslim Women In Burkas Did NOT Fight, Drop Baby On Minneapolis Road

Did five Muslim women dressed in burkas fight on the side of a Minneapolis, Minnesota, road, with one dropping a baby? No, that's not true: A video does show five women in burkas brawling on a roadside in September 2018, but it was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Social media accounts falsely used the video in an effort to embarrass Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Minnesota Democrat, by claiming the fight happened in her Minneapolis congressional district.

The claim that the brawl happened in Minneapolis originated from a tweet (archived here) posted by @LVNancy on April 22, 2019. The message read:

Third-world
๐Ÿ—‘
being allowed into our nation.

No Assimilation.
Stuck in the dark ages.

I believe this to be in #IlhanOmar's district - But hardly a Recognizable American State

#Minnesota #Minneapolis

No wonder she's so casual about #SomePeopleDidSomething

This is what social media users saw:

The Daily Mail newspaper reported on the shocking site in a story titled "Five women in hijabs brawl by the side of the road - with one even dropping a TODDLER - in footage filmed by shocked driver in Saudi Arabia,"

In this video posted by the Daily Mail you can clearly see the cars on the road had arabic license plates, not Minnesota tags:
