Fact Check: Oprah Winfrey Is NOT Endorsing Diet Pill That 'Lost Her 60 In 6 Weeks' No Endorsement

Does Oprah Winfrey endorse a diet pill that "lost her 60 in 6 weeks"? No, that's not true: A spokesperson for Oprah told Lead Stories the claim is "completely untrue," and that she is not endorsing a diet pill.

The claim appeared as a Facebook post (archived here) on February 4, 2022. It opens:

Oprah details her all-natural solution that lost her 60 in 6 weeks.

This is what the post looked like on Facebook at the time of writing:

The post has a photograph of Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres in a grocery store from an October 2017 episode of "The Ellen Show." Oprah and Ellen are wearing the same clothes in the video as they are in photo in the post. They do not discuss a diet pill in the clip.

The post appears to go to a news article on the website Real Time News with the caption: "Oprah swears, 'It's A Treadmill In A Pill!'" The link in the post actually goes to an article titled, "LIFE-CHANGING: Harvard Medical Student Discovers 1 Secret Mineral That Helps You Lose 52 lbs In 28 Days," and makes absolutely zero mention of Oprah.

She is one of the owners of Weight Watchers and posted about the weight loss program on her Instagram in January 2022.
