Did an official letter from the London Borough of Bexley ask locals to keep their daughters and dogs indoors? No, that's not true: The fake letter, which included the borough's coat of arms, was distributed to homes in Bexley. In a notice on the borough website, Bexley Council said the letter was not from the Council and referred it to the police.
The claim appeared in a post and video (archived here) by the National Housing Party U.K. (@LeaderNHPUK) on X on Aug. 25, 2026. It read:
Bexley Has Been Made Borough Of Sanctuary For Refugees.
Letter Sent To Residents Asking Them To Keep Their Young Daughters Inside & Not allow Them To Wear Short Skirts Which Will Tempt The Refugee To Rape Them.
Also Asks Residents To Keep Dogs Inside.

After removing her original video, Finbow followed up with another post (archived here) on Facebook on Aug. 25, 2026. It read:
So after this amazing day we've had with fake letters being shoved in my letter box scaremongering half of the area 68k precisely. I was thinking we need to do some kind of peaceful protest in slade green / Bexley just to make it clear that we do not want this and we will stick together we have no room and we already have enough people in our community without adding people that we do not have any track record of and I do not wish for any of our daughters sons mums sisters to feel scared or threatened

The Bexley Council posted a notice (archived here) at the top of its website, warning residents about the fake letter. It read:
Notice | We have been made aware of a fake letter posted to some homes, supposedly from our Development Management Team, titled 'Neighbourhood Notice - New Residential Occupancy' and dated 24/8/2026.
We wish to make it clear that this letter is not from the Council and we have referred the matter to the Metropolitan Police.
