Fact Check: 'Plandemic 3: The Great Awakening' Video Is Laundry List Of False, Misleading Claims From Last Six Decades Hodgepodge

Does the video "Plandemic 3: The Great Awakening" assemble the "forbidden puzzle pieces to reveal the big picture of what's really happening in America and beyond"? No, that's not true: The video repeats an unsubstantiated claim of a plan by global elites to replace national sovereignty with a one-world government and rehashes previously debunked false and misleading claims made by anti-vaccination activists and others.

The claims appeared in a video on Rumble (archived here) published on June 4, 2023, titled "Plandemic 3: The Great Awakening (The Full, Unedited Movie)." The description for the video says:

The Great Awakening is the third installment of the Plandemic series. This documentary experience assembles forbidden puzzle pieces to reveal the big picture of what's really happening in America and beyond. The Great Awakening is intended to be a lighthouse to guide us out of the storm and into a brighter future.

One-world government

As its title suggests, "Plandemic 3," written and directed by Mikki Willis, is the third in a series of films largely centered around the COVID-19 pandemic that began in early 2020. In this latest video, the pandemic is shown as a means to an end for those seeking world dominion. At 45:45 into the video, a narrator says:

Under the guise of philanthropy, the leaders of the globalist movement leverage every possible crisis to advance their plan to replace national sovereignty with a one-world government.

Running an hour and 40 minutes, "Plandemic 3" is built on the framework of a 1969 lecture by author, filmmaker and conspiracy theorist G. Edward Griffin, called "More Deadly Than War: The Communist Revolution in America." Colorized clips of Griffin are used liberally throughout the film, along with his voice alone, to help narrate many sections of the video. The closing credits for the video say it is "honoring the legacy of G. Edward Griffin."

World Economic Forum and The Great Rest

The disproven notion of a drive for a "one-world government" comes from a misunderstanding of a public policy initiative by the World Economic Forum (WEF) called The Great Reset.

Lead Stories has published multiple stories involving The Great Reset that the WEF launched in response to the COVID crisis. The phrase has been hijacked by conspiracy theorists who believe an evil cabal is using the pandemic as a pretext to seize global domination. In some versions of the theory, shadowy elites orchestrated COVID to seize power; in others, the virus presents the opportunity for them to do so.

The claim was directly debunked by Lead Stories in the fact check: "'The Great Reset' Is NOT A Secret Plan Masterminded By Global Elites To Limit Freedoms And Push Radical Policies."

Klaus Schwab

"Plandemic 3" also focuses on Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the WEF. In conspiracy circles, he's considered the architect behind the purported plot for a unified world government and has been the focal point for dozens of claims debunked by Lead Stories. Schwab hosts the WEF annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where leaders of business, philanthropy and politics gather.

The film uses lots of Nazi imagery in its portrayal of Schwab and notes he was born in Germany during Adolf Hitler's rule.

Black Lives Matter and antifa

As "Plandemic 3" continues, Griffin cites racism as a ploy from the Communist playbook as a way to tear apart the fabric of American society. About 55 minutes into the video, it notes moments of racial tension from recent history, including Black Lives Matter (BLM) and antifa (antifascist) protests, NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick taking a knee during the national anthem and violence following the killing of George Floyd. No scenes involving white supremacists were included in the video.

The film claims fiery 2020 BLM protests were organized and partially funded through a network of pro-Communist organizations but provides no evidence to support its case.

Lead Stories has debunked these claims involving BLM and antifa.

Attack on the nuclear family

About an hour into the video, the topic switches to gender-related issues and what is portrayed as attacks on the nuclear family. At 1:03:10, a narrator says:

In chapter two of his 'Communist Manifesto,' Karl Marx wrote, 'Abolition of the family! ... The bourgeois [middle class] family will vanish as a matter of course ...'

Griffin appears again at 1:03:40 in the film. He says:

Because the real objective is to remove the family as a possible alternate source of guidance and support. All totalitarian regimes strive to destroy the close-knit family in order to remove any loyalties that might be higher than to the state itself.

As an example of this, the film cited misleading headlines about a Washington state bill that was signed by the governor and suggested that the law would allow the "government to take minor children away" from their parents if "they refuse to agree to gender transition surgery." The claims were not true.

Lead Stories wrote this fact check about the legislation: "Washington State Bill Does NOT Allow 'Government To Take Minor Children Away From Parents If They Refuse To Agree To Gender Transition Surgery.'"
